Matthews Middle School

Matthews Middle School welcomed its first students on Tuesday, September 4, 2007.  Photographs were taken at the Dedication Ceremonies, September 15, 2007.

Matthews Facts:
  • The Board of Education has decided that red will be the preferred color for the interior hallways.
  • School colors will be red, gold, and white.
  • Classroom pods will be tilted to maximize views of the trees and wetlands.
  • The gymnasium will have competition and physical education gym spaces.
  • The band room is two stories high to better accommodate acoustic concerns and 70 band members.
  • The library and office area will be carpeted, but not the classrooms.
  • The students voted for the Mustang as the school mascot.
